recycling

Last night Bonnie called and asked if I had walking plans today. I said no.  What did she have in mind. She had a box of shredding to go to the recycle center. Let's walk around the block, then recycle.

Now grant you, the shortest version of "around the block" is three miles. And that's the short cut. That's the one we did.

She picked me up and I was waiting with my recycling. When in Rome. ... The center wasn't open so we parked in the shade of the putting area. Someone was puttering around in the recycling area. Lots of golfers were out.

We headed east on Illick's Mill Rd until we arrived at the parking lot for Monocacy Park. Then instead of continuing to Main or Center Street, we headed down the muddy nature trail, and connected with the Monocacy Trail. At Paint Mill Road, we headed up to Schoenersville Rd. to the football fields, then across the little league fields, and back to the driving range.

At the car, we gathered up all the recycling, and walked it to the center. We were at the last stop — the shredding shed — and a man says "excuse me". We turn around. He then asks where and how far we walked. He saw us when he was getting the center ready to open, and then saw us again coming thru the little league fields. And we looked like we had walked. We were stinky and sweaty.

Tomorrow is the LWV picnic. I'll remember to take pictures. Maybe.
