I knew I hadn't posted in awhile, but a whole month. No, 35 days. The few readers I have are probably gone now. I really need to get my act together.
I have not been a total free-loader. I've faithfully been going to chair yoga and the old-lady exercise class on Wednesdays at the Senior Center. Plus Milly on Mondays. And even occasionally riding the Cubii I was given. The chair yoga class has had a sub that I like very much. The regular person is having their hip replaced. This week the sub had a sub and I like them even more. It was much more like what I was introduced to as chair yoga.
The number of attendees at the Senior Center class is growing. Their abilities are varied. I'm not used to an exercise class where the instructor reminds people to set the brake of their mobility equipment. I drop the roomie off on my way to yoga and she people watches until I arrive for class. Then I hear about all she's seen and heard for two days after.
I missed the Tail on the Trail winter kick-off walk because of my brother's Celebration of Life.
Last Sunday I took my international students to a climbing gym. I did not climb. I've tried it twice. Apparently not in the life of this blog. It must have been in the old one. It was with Girl Scouts and the person doing the belay was actually pulling the rope to help me. Not my proudest moment. I was 10-15 years younger and just as weak. Nothing has changed. Well maybe it is. I'm probably weaker now. Plus they wouldn't have a harness to fit my fat ass. S was a daredevil trying every thing. She even wanted to free climb. K not as much. She was afraid of falling at the beginning but went anyway. Didn't get far and tried again. I think she went four times and hit the top twice. S went 8 times and increased difficulty often.
Today was the Bethlehem-North Volkssport walk. Only three people came. I was the only one to do the 5K. The hill kicked my ass like normal. Two walkers were way ahead. One stayed back with me. But I did it. Now I need to do it again, and again, and get my grove back. I really need someone to walk with.
Miles/Steps: 5K
