I've walked down Seneca Street my entire life. Elin live in an apartment near here when her and Dick first got married. Why have I never noticed this marble stand next to the hitching post?Maybe it's because I walked down the other side of the street. UGI was doing construction (at 7 am ... I would be livid!) and I had to walk on the other side. Am I not that observant?
I'm guess it's the base to a water trough. What else could it be. Nobody is buried at the curb on Seneca Street ... are they?
Monday I heard on the news that my Fitness tracker started new solo adventures. The goal is to challenge yourself and complete them in one day. They are all in national parks. The give you the route and pics of the landmarks and you virtually walk the trail. Odd yes, but no odder than walking to Nome, Alaska every February or the year I walked to the Holy Lands.
I, of course, signed up in a heart beat. Mine begain Tuesday, one of my two work days. I came up 3K short. Oh well, I thought, I'll try again on a non-work day. Imagine my surprise when I woke this morning and the challenge was still there. I had just under 3K to go. The walk today put me over the top before I even arrived home.
I took some screen shots of the places I "visited". When I went back to take the shots, I noticed it said I had not collected any "treasures". "Treasures"? There were "Treasures"? I think I need to dig a little deeper and find out what these are and how to get them.
This challenge was called the Vernal Falls in Yosemite. The next one is almost twice as far. It's the Yosemite Valley Loop. It starts on Friday. I picked a long weekend on purpose.
I won't post each one of these that I do. They'll get boring, quick. Now when I really go hiking at Yosemite, that will be different.
