Last night I was settling in to Olympics couch potato mode (those who can't, watch) and the phone rang. Damn it. I had to get up. It was Bonnie. "Do you want to walk tomorrow?" Clearly couch potato mode would have to wait. We decided to leave at 8, after Megan's family left for work/day care. I was to decide.
Normally she parks and comes in. I figured we'd walk up to the hospital, then over to the bridge, over the bridge and back the next bridge. But she double parked out front. I grabbed my hat and ran.
"Where are we going?" I told her the canal, and immediately remembered that it's MF time and the canal in Bethlehem is pretty much impossible. I told to her to park on the far end of Market Street and we'd go part way over the Minisi Trail Bridge, down the steps and to Freemansburg.
About 75% of the trail is shady on a very sunny day. There were a lot of people out for a Monday. It was an excellent walk on the part of the trail we rarely use. It was nearly 4.7 miles round trip.
