The heat wave continues. I think it's the 4th one. Today we are on day 6 #4, I think. I'm actually starting to get used to the heat. That is probably not a good thing. But don't get me wrong, I will go towards AC anytime I can.
I was hot and sticky when I woke up, which is actually good because it meant I slept. I just wasn't in the mood to go out at 6 am for a walk. So I needed a plan B. I opted for the Mall. I'm over 60 so I guess this makes me officially a old lady.
I chose to go after lunch. I thought the air conditioned break mid-day might be nice. It was. I parked at Macy's like I always do and headed inside. Macy's was downright cold. It was wonderful. I wanted to stay all day. I headed left and made a loop around that side of the store and then headed to the mall portion. It was cool, but warm. All those skylights were leaving in a lot of heat.
The mall was packed. Like Christmas-packed. Everyone else in the valley without AC had decided to spend the day there.
Since I was on the 2nd floor I did that first. The thing I immediately noticed was everything changed or moved. Lane Bryant (my reward for walking in the heat) was gone. Vicky's Secret moved across the hall and it no longer looks like a Hollywood bordello! And they have a second store called Pink for the adolescents and young women. Which I think is terrific. Teenagers love it and a lot in that store was not age appropriate.
Anyway, I walked down to JC Penny, then up to Boscov's and Back to Macy's, making a loop of each concourse, and the little entrance halls. Then I walked downstairs, and did it again on the first floor. When I returned, I walked back up the stairs and into Macy's teen department. I felt so old. All the back-to-school signs said "Throwback to the 90s". Or "Throwback to the 80s". Golly, I felt so old.
This morning I was out at 6 again, and I made a small loop. Since I knew I wasn't out long, I walked up Wyandotte to Sassafras to be sure it was aerobic enough.
