drenched

Lydia and I got drenched today, but it was after we walked. But the headline got your attention, didn't it?

Last night one of Lydia's friends that lives in Hellertown posted a picture of a storage mailbox that was painted, with a link to a story in the Saucon Source.  The local high school painted three mailboxes as part of their classwork this year, and will do an additional three next term.

It had stopped raining this morning, briefly, so we decided to go look for them. Lydia is always up for a walk if it includes a photo op. (Her pics.) I'm always up for public art. So we headed out. It started to drizzle. We ignored it. We parked at Water Street Park. The first box was supposed to be on Main Street near the BBT bank. It was "out of this world".  The astronaut panel is the front, street side. It's really hard to see. Personally, I think a better street side would have be the galaxy/planet side. But no one asked me. The astronaut was well done.

This "hippie" one was across the street and near a corner by Braveheart. It was in front of a house so it was difficult to take a photo. The living room would have been perfect to take the back side. It was covered with stickers.

This one was on Northampton street close to the cemetery. It's an under water theme.

The front is a pirate ship.

The one side is sea life. Look at the detail on the jelly fish.

The sidewalk side was sharks.

Overall this was the best one. It was signed by Olivia. I hope she's going to art school. She's got some talent.

During the walk it drizzled. We walked back to the car and it was starting to mist. It was still misting when we headed into Giant. We just needed a few things and wouldn't be more than 10 minutes. We had all the groceries and suddenly there was a god-awful beating noise. It was raining. Hard. We had to wait to get back to the car. Driving to Sailors, our next stop is was calm again. We parked at the door. Again, we came out to a downpour. It was 10 feet. We went for it and got drenched. I couldn't see to drive. Ten minutes after we got home the sun was shining. I'm still wet.

Miles/Steps:        just under 2.
Weather:             75, overcast and drizzling, 8-% humidity
Bathrooms:         none used
