Today was the annual LBW picnic and walk. This year it was back at Lake Nockamixion. This year there was no picnic. But several people brought their own food and had a picnic on the lawn. The first time this walk was here —2015—Angel had a broken foot and the teen was a tween. The tween and I had gotten off course and ended up doing a 4K.
This year there were no photo albums or any sharing of any kind. You had to bring your own water. The only thing that was there to share was hand sanitizer. Everyone needed to wear a mask. All the standard 2020 protocols.
I pulled into the park about 9:30 and could not find Pavilion #1. I found all the others. It was 9:55 when I arrived. Five minutes before the start period ended.
This year the 6K stayed on the bike path. We headed one direction until it ended, turned around and came back. Then we past the start point, the boat rentals and walked to the marina. Then came back. The terrain was rolling hills.
Instead of the picnic, everyone brought lunch and sat on lawn chairs and ate and talked.
It was a nice morning. My knees really hurt. I probably should not have gone after the 15 yesterday. I will rest Sunday. I have another long walk Monday. We talked today about how getting older sucks. Ann said when they were younger they did a 20K one day, and a 10 the next. Now they can barely do two 10's. 10-years-go I did the 3-Day and it was 25 miles in one day. Now I am 10-years-older, heavier and don't train, so that doesn't help. Getting old sucks.
