This is the email I sent out yesterday. Anything in italics I added for clarity—
Cut out races and the
calendar gets empty!
First up: Tail on the Trail starts a new challenge today
and runs thru Nov. 1 the day of the Half Marathon. I think it's
fun to track, and you get lame prizes. And it's free. Plus you can
registered the kids! http://tailonthetrail.org/
(The half is open to walkers. And registration is open. Sorry, not
in my budget. But I'd be happy to train with you.)
Tomorrow, May 2 South Bethlehem Volkssport Walk. Meet at Comfort
Suites (3rd & Brodhead) at 10am
May 3, IRT, 9 am. Meet at trail head in Coplay by the kilns. So far I've only heard from Lydia. She is going.
Notice there is nothing for the 9th-10th. I promised to take Pat to the Central Church plant sale Saturday morning so I'll have to walk in the afternoon. I'm thinking about this new to me place in Forks—Gollub Park. Angel was shocked I didn't know about it. "It's about 1/3
mile from the parking lot to the trail and maybe a 1/2 mile from
the trail to the lookout. It can be tricky, very rocky and
narrow and natural, ie no railings to keep you from falling over
the cliff."
The 10th is Mother's Day. For people with Mothers it's a holy day of obligation. Not sure where I'm walking yet. But I will be walking.
May 16 **FITNESS ADVENTURE** The Ackerman-Parrys and I are finally
going to the Sky Zone in Oaks. Yep, a trampoline. You need to
reserve ahead of time. And do a waiver. The whole day is still
open. I did our reservations today for 11:45 am. And chose the 1
hour jump package. ($16) (The 1/2 hour is $12) We must arrive at
10:45. Tailgate potluck lunch afterwards.

May 17. Nothing planned yet. I'm trying to only have organized things 1 day a weekend. Giving a little room for spontaneity. Megan and the baby won't come to Sunday events because of swim lessons. So these events can be more rustic.
May 21-22 or 24 I'm going to plan a walking adventure. Not sure
what it is yet. Will let you know.
May 25 Memorial Day. Walk south Bethlehem and check out the newly
opened (if everything goes according to plan) Hoover Mason Trestle
elevated walking path. Yeah, too cool, right? Since it's a holiday
should we do 10 am? With a lunch
picnic at my house afterwards maybe. Kosher dogs and some simple
healthier salads? Because of my current job situation I will be suggesting pot luck lunches, picnics, brown bags a lot.
May 28-31 I'll be walking in Canada. I have a seat up for grabs.
Vacay days fell thru. You need vacation days and a passport. This
is a bus trip with seasoned walkers, who can easily walk circles
around all of us. I can only hope that when I'm their age ...
As always, if you ever want off the list. Just let me know.
