sitting all day is hard!

It has been years since I sat to work. Even longer since I sat for an entire shift, never getting up. But that's what happened today.

I started my new gig at the local arts center, one day a week. (Though this week it's three days). I sit in a chair and work for the entire day. I only got up twice. Once for water and once to pee. Have you ever seen a more dismal chart. I didn't even leave my chair to eat.

My butt hurt. My back hurt. I was tired and thirsty. Inactivity is exhausting.

I am so happy that I've decided to walk there. But I was sweaty on arrival. I think it was the hills. That red line is some stairs to Vernon street. I've walked past them frequently. Today I noticed them. Then I walked home.

I'm going to have to get up every hour and just walk around for five minutes. Get the blood flowing.

Tomorrow I'm walking with Bonnie.

I recently read that walking for at least two minutes every hour offsets the hazards of sitting...
