south bethlehem volkssport walk

Today my plans were to be in NYC for The Great Saunter. But my friend had to cancel because her brother is on the short list for a heart. If you pray, she could use prayers.

Instead I walked with the Volkssport group on the South Bethlehem trail. Lydia had other plans, and Bonnie and the baby were sick. So it was me and eight other seasoned walkers. We made it thru Lehigh before the Bach festival began, which was good, and bad.

I didn't take pixs at the trestle, but the section by the blast furnace was being worked on. Wait till you see the stairs! Initially it will be an up and back. Maybe next year the other section by the casino will be open. When Barb comes up in July we'll be able to take her down because there is also an elevator. She can ride up with the baby, and the rest of us can walk up. Bet we win!

I left the group at ArtsQuest. A lot of the people today hadn't done the south Bethlehem walk before, so Bobodancer was taking them to see the glass sculpture. I just wanted to keep moving.

When I came back I was cutting thru the Comfort Suites parking lot and saw all this athletic equipment next to the dumpster (behind the fence). There is no place nearby to play sports. It was quite unusual. Close by some guys were watching it from a mini van. They had shirts hanging off the way-backs door.

Tomorrow I'm planning on doing the IRT. Don't know if anyone is coming along.
