number seven between downpours

Today it is supposed to rain all day. So for day seven I waited till there was a pause in the storms, grabbed an umbrella, and headed out for a quick walk around the hood. To say my neighborhood heading east is a pig sty is an insult to pigs everywhere.

I usually go west, or north. Basically into Fountain Hill. It's by no means clean, but the sidewalks are not a broken. I rarely head south on a neighborhood walk—especially now—because the hills are killer. I'm not there yet. Soon, I think. So that leaves east toward the five points. Wow. The amount of trash was startling. Clearly the great south side cleanup did not hit this hood. It was just a constant stream of trash. I could have filled four black bags and two or three recycle bins. I was thinking there was everything but the kitchen sink. Then I found it. And a snow blower. I'm guessing the trash collector didn't take it so it sat there.

I kind of felt like I needed a shower and I didn't touch anything except for the penny I picked up.

The rain began again as I hit my block. My timing was perfect. But I only did 20 minutes. Maybe 15. So I still have to do 15 minutes of something else after school.

Miles/Steps:  .78 miles
Weather:
       46 not rainy while I was out. Rain pretty consistent all day.

$ Found:        1 penny
