laundry strut

A couple of weeks ago I took my quilts and other winter bedding to the laundromat. I walked it down, of course.

While I was on vacay my sister had an accident on the bathroom rug. Her solution was to roll it up and put it on the back porch. It was driving me nuts. So I decided Sunday it was time to take it to the laundry. I gathered up all the bathroom rugs and put them in Lydia's shopping cart. The roomie then threw down her blanket collection to go. The basket was filling up. This morning I added my pillow. It was a reeking laundry pile.

I walked down to the laundry and filled the machine. Then I had 37 minutes to kill. I decided to walk straight down Broadway to Dotson, and come back. Basically, I went to the Wawa and back.  Not the world's most exciting walk, but there it was.

The plan was to hang everything one the line. However, I put everything in the dryer for two quarters. I think that was 12 minutes. Just enough to get the excess water out and watch a little Good Morning America. My pillow tripled in size. Maybe I should wash it more often. I wonder what the rule is?   (2x a year without protector. Or protector every month. Oops.)

I walked home, and then hung up the laundry In the yard. When I brought it in at 4 PM everything was way past dry. Except that dang pillow. I ended up having to put it in the dryer for more than a half-hour.

This afternoon I took my sister to BJs and walked in and out most of the aisles. Not because I wanted something, but so I'd get air conditioned steps in. But I did buy a phone. So no more crackle crackle on my landline.

Miles/Steps:        3, together
Weather:             low 80s, sunny, breeze
Bathrooms:         I don't know. I don't want to know. If I really needed to use it, I'd go home.
