I wasn't sure what I was going to do. While I decided I checked my email. There was one from Angel asking if I wanted to do something late morning. We decided on 10. But where.
I gave the 72 hours-shy-of-teen four choices. She couldn't decide. And she really doesn't know names of parks and trails—we just drag her to them—but tell her what's there and she would pick. I started with Louise Moore and said "fitness trail" and she picked it immediately.
Off we went and scored a prime spot in the shade to park. Since I was there last the outside, longer trail, is now covered in grated tires. It's spongy when it's walked on.
We walked, talked, climbed ... and on occasion pouted ... our way thru the park. Angel is a tad out of shape. She couldn't finish all there stations. But she did all of them. The >teen had fairly good success. Though she kept complaining how out of shape she was. I kept reminding her how easy that was to change. (I know, "pot calling the kettle black".) Well it is easier at her age!
It was kind of funny, the >teen giving me instructions. For example: "You're supposed to use your arms to jump over the wall, Gayle." I didn't do everything. My monkey bar days are over. I think they'd both have a great time at Jorden Creeks outdoor gym.
It was a good morning. And the >teen didn't complain once about her planters warts hurting. A win-win.
Miles/Steps: 2, maybe. But we did do the entire fitness circuit.
Bathrooms: None used
Wildlife: lots of birds
Weather: High 70s. Sunny. No humid.
$ Found: zip
Extras: This is a county park. The county crew was mowing the lawns and this swarm of swallows kept following him. It was bizarre.
