We met at my house. Angel and the teen arrived while I was finishing the laundry. I got the laundry out on the line and we hit the pavement to walk down to the studio.
It was open. In our excitement we forgot to take pics so here is the lobby from their FB page.
After doing the paperwork—electronically, of course—we were left in the studio with the instructor.
I'm not sure what I was expecting ... well maybe I do know.I was expecting a lot of work on a barre. Like ballet class. This was a little of everything: barre, floor work, weights, pilates, yoga... even jumping jacks which I can no longer do.
I was sweating like a beast and we were still in the warmup! I think I did about 70% of the workout and I was exhausted. I had to adapt some things, and just didn't do the deep squats at the barre. Angel started to peter out at the end. I say she did about 95%. The teen didn't shut up. She whined a little. And proclaimed she couldn't do a few things. And she doesn't like planks. And there was another thing she didn't like. I bet she starts to do some of it since she's now in the marching band. A tuba is heavy. She'll need upper body strength.
I need to work on flexibility and figure out how to get WD40 into my joints. My knees were making all kinds of noises, even doing the baby squats.
Walking back my legs felt a little like jello. After sitting a while they got stiff. Now my knees hurt. It should be interesting tonight after I sit for two hours watching Hair.
Tuesday I walked around by the hospital and down Wyandotte. When I returned there was a text from Lydia. "Was that you walking over the bridge by the mansion?" Guilt as charged.
Wednesday I took the scenic route to and from the Wawa. Pat needed money form the ATM. I like having a destination.
