Tomorrow is the Lager Jogger 5k. Eryn, Angel and I are doing it. Packet pickup was today. Our original plan was to walk the course, but we didn't have a copy. So instead we took the brewery tour and walked a lot of skinny stairs.
When we did this race in 2013 Bonnie and I took the tour, you can read about it here. It's a great tour but the group was huge. Maybe 50 people. That is a lot of people to herd around a 183 year old building. And the next group was just as big. The last time, there was maybe 10 in the group.
They still give you two full 6 ounce cups of beer at the end. And because the ice cream operation is up and running (by cousins) again, they were giving free samples of ice cream outside too. Be still my heart. Beer and ice cream before lunch. Life is good.
(They are doing a remodel of the old ice cream building. Wonder if it will be the plant once more?)
Angel took a lot of good photos. You can see them on FB or Instagram.
Afterwards we headed to the Maroon Sports Bar and Grille where Bonnie and I ate last time. It wasn't open!
Not much is open in downtown Pottsville so we ended up walking back to the car and heading out of Dodge. We ultimately ate at a 5-Guys.
Tomorrow we head back at 7 am, or early. Race time is 9.
When I arrived home from Pottsville, there was a hang-tag on the door that Edible Arrangements came and I wasn't home. They left it at Phillipes. This is the basket of fruit. beautiful, isn't it. Clearly we are taking fruit on the road trip tomorrow. I think the large multicolor things are pineapple.
It was from my friend Pam. We walk together at lunchtime Mondays or Wednesday. Or both. But my end date has been announced, so I'll finish up there on the 29th. No more walking. The card said "Hope we can do many more fun walks even if we aren't at Lafayette!" Of course we will. I heart my friends.
