I met my friend Pam at noon for our lunchtime walk. When I arrived at Markle she was sitting there wearing her sunhat. Spring has arrived!
Today we went thru the Watson Courtyard and down Sullivan Lane to the Bushkill Creek. Then we made a left onto I think Bushkill Drive, and followed the creek to the Arts Building. The galleries are never open when I walk down that way, but we took a chance and they were open!
The Grossman Galleries house the more eclectic (ie I have no clue what's happening) shows. This show featured hands holding twigs (Lucy Gans), paintings made from the letter B (Stacy Lynn Waddell, above), an interactive piece which was weird and cool (Scott Sherk) and blocks that you could build with (Kelly Goff, right). It wasn't easy easy as it looks. the blocks were different weights.
The exhibit also had palettes that were colored with crayons. When I was a kid if I colored on an object like that I'd get a spanking. Now it's art. The show is called "We Place Our Ideas/ Our Ideas Place Us".
After the gallery we crossed back across the street and headed up the stairs, thru the arch, and went left past the Civil War monument. Left is certainly steeper than right. We wove our way back thru campus and then sadly, back to work.
