omg—vernon street

A few weeks ago when I was out walking I thought "hmmm. When the weather clears I need to walk up that hill" Why would I think that?

The hill is Vernon Street. As you come up the Wyandotte Street hill, Wyandotte takes a sharp right and a small street goes straight. That's Vernon. Since it's no-outlet, nobody goes there that doesn't live there except maybe utilities, repair people and the mail carrier. Today add Gayle to the list.

Now understand, this hill runs next to and above Wyandotte. Makes Wyandotte seem like an incline. My heart was doing the boom boom boom when I reached the top. But I did not stop. Okay there was a period where my steps were no bigger than the wee scoobie's, but I kept going. When I reached the top I thought about singing the Rocky theme song.

Look how far away Martin Tower looks. And you can't even see Wyandotte.

This is from about half way down. Wyandotte is near the fourth car on the left. The fifth car is making the turn. The chimney next to the tree is St. Luke's.

After I get in a little better shape I'm going to try it again.

I'm starting to get better at hills. Need steeper ones. If you have suggestions, let me know. I do want to do the one from Porters Pub to the Easton Cemetery.

When I was posting the pixs on instagram I thought, wow, there's a lot of posts here. Clearly you are supposed to use it more than every three weeks.

My winter swag came from Tail On the Trail yesterday. An ear warmer and a key chain. Not real exciting. I'll try the ear warmer next year.
