idita-walk update. where is bonnie?

Sharon will be here shortly. She should make it in time for Aliy Zirkle to cross the finish line first. Finally. (Runner up 3 times now.) Hopefully typing that doesn't ruin her karma, but I always root for the girls. She blew thru Huslia last night, but has not taken her mandatory break. So things are still up in the air. 500 miles left to go.

I can see now why Dave got into tracking the race. It's kind of fun.  Pick your mushers and watch them play leap frog. Everything now is still a game. Things don't get serious until they get near the finish line in Nome. I have experienced that first hand with Bonnie at a race.

Speaking of Bonnie, where is she? I thought she might be hitching a ride on a dog sled. But of all the pixs in the Alaska Dispatch, I don't see a stow-away. I think she is still hiding in Fairbanks. Now I'm beginning to think she's going to fly in on the last day in one of those puddle jumpers. She can't drive. There are no roads.

It's -16 in Nome right now. Clearly that taste of spring did not last. Things are back to normal.

Aliy came in 5th. The Seeveys came in 1-2.
Sharon arrived the day I wrote this.
