lehigh parkway

Today I had to be in downtown Allentown for my haircut, so I had two choices for walking—center city or the parkway. I chose the parkway.

I parked at the entrance nearest Martin Luther King Drive and then walked toward the bridge, and then up to the Iron Bridge and came back. I talked on the phone to my sister Barb for part of the trip.
On the way to the iron bridge I saw four different people fishing. In January.
I walked up the stairs to the entrance road. Of course at the top the were blocked off because of the cave-in. The stairs don't look too great either. But considering this whole park was built by unskilled labor as part of the WPA 75 years ago, they could be way worse.
Well, they could look like this—The cave-in not far from the stairs. But as long as maintenance is eliminated from city budgets, this will continue to happen.

It was a good walk.
