a lovely day on the trail

Today we walked on the D&L from Walnutport to almost the Lehigh Gap trail head.  It was about 4.25 miles round trip.

We left the Walnuport/Slatington trail head and headed north. I've only walked this section of the trail once before. The scenery on the D&L is pretty much all the same—trees, water, and old railroad tracks. The canal path really follows the railroad line, not the canal. Though in Slatington and Walnutport you can do the actually canal pat. This portion of the path is very shady, except at the airport.

It was a terrific day—cool, breezy and sunny

After walking, Lydia showed Bonnie her sunburn form last week. Bonnie immediately began peeling it. Gross.

Tomorrow, the Saucon Rail Trail and farmer's market.
