friday and saturday walks

Friday, over lunch Betsy and I walked. We changed our route. She needed to get candy for trick or treat, so we walked the indirect route to the Crest Plaza Shopping Center to Target.

I had mentioned seeing a sign on Calvary Temple that they were having a health fair and giving free flu shots. I need one, prefer it to be free. So we decided we would see how long the line was, then I was going to go there, and Betsy to Target. But we couldn't find which door to use. That's because I had no idea what day it was. The sign clearly said October 30. Saturday, not Friday. Duh.

When we left her house it was bright and sunny. When we came out of Target is was cloudy and lightly raining. It stopped quickly but rained at least one more time before we got back to her house.

Saturday Lydia came over for lunch and to walk. We got her dad into the house and then we headed out. I had one route planned with three lengths. She chose a modified middle route. Out Itaska, Broadway, Back Delaware, down Fourth, back Wyndotte and Broadway. I decided weaving up the hill would be better for her, but as it turns out that was wrong. Broadway is flat and the hill two blocks. The way I went the hill was about four blocks. Oops. We did about 2.5 miles. Pretty good for her first training walk.
