the 'burbs

Sunday was a 10-mile day. We parked at Wegmans, 512, and did a nearly 4-mile loop while Sharon waited in the coffee shop. Then she joined us for the 3.2-mile loop.

One great thing about meeting at Wegmans is there are clean restrooms and an endless supply of food. We bought a fruit salad, and a dark chocolate bar. Then we sat in the cart-coral (the only shade in the parking lot) and feasted on squares of chocolate, fresh fruit and trail mix. The break was probably close to 20 minutes. It felt good.

Then we left Sharon on the bench under the "welcome to Wagmans sign (that's what Sharon calls it) and did the last 3.4 miles.
On the middle loop we tried a path that went thru a subdivision. We got a bit turned around, but made it back. We might have shaved a block or so off of our route. Sharon was only about a half-block behind. Until the end…that was quite impressive. Usually she's at least a block behind and get further behind as we get behind. She usually bails at mile two.

We made a point of telling her how well she did.

The photo was taken near Wegmans. We were joking about whether we walked fast enough to register on the sign. At that we heard a car zooming down the street. It's all about timing. Bonnie walks 20 MPH, and we have the proof

Since Bonnie drove, I went home, grabbed the car and went to work in my stinky clothes… until 8:30. Good thing I was alone.
