My sister Sharon is still at St. Lukes. The hospital is so close to my house that we can hear the helicopters land on the roof. I thought she would be transferred to rehab today but it didn't happen. I've seen it before. The medical profession appears to grind to a halt during the weekends.
Bonnie and I decided to walk up and visit her. Well, actually I decided and dragged Bonnie along. This was a shorter distance than yesterday, plus I had a break in the middle. Of course it was mostly uphill going there.
We headed out and crossed Itaska when I realized I didn't have a mask. Neither did Bonnie. Back home we went. She practically ran up the hill. I sauntered. She got home and back to Bastian as I arrived there.
We went up Bishopthorpe to Seneca and I had to stop. I suggested we go out Seneca and then up Fiot. We crossed Delaware and down St. Luke's Place.
After visiting Sharon, we went up Ostrum and came home Bishopthorpe
I was sore when I returned home, but not like yesterday. And I didn't even have to take pain relievers.
Miles/Steps: 1.4 miles plus walk with Pat
Weather: 90, sunny
Update on Sharon: It is Tuesday. She is finally going to rehab. The rehab center called at 8 am Monday and had me bring clothes and paperwork. Sadly it took another full day. Health care in America is F'd up.
