b i n g o

I finished my Bingo challenge for this summer with one day to spare. I just realized that I had BINGO two or three weeks ago, on the up angle from B to O. Drats. And it would be pretty easy to get the third one (right under start) if something was playing at the movies worth spending the money on. I am not into superheroes.

Completing this challenge got me thinking about what next year's challenge will be. I know for cetain that I am not doing the "Montco" again. I will always do the "Tail on the Trail" and the "GetOut LV" walks. But as you all know I need bigger goals.

Walking on the D&L yesterday I've decided I am going to walk/pedal/paddle the entire 167 miles of the D&L. I'll need teammates for some sections since I'm not going to walk 14 miles one-way to the next trailhead and then walk back.

I also will need to research renting or buying (2nd-hand) a bike rack that will hold three bikes, assuming that Angel and family come along on the bike sections. There are several sections that are quite a distance between trailheads. Those need to be biking. The teen isn't much into walking these days but she loves to bike. Or she did. With teens you can never tell. Or maybe the day rate of a real van (rather than mini-van). Bikes, coolers, and gear will fit in one of those bad boys. Or even places that rent bikes.

Before doing anything I have to find out the date of the 2018 Lehigh River Sojourn. That will be a 32-mile segment done in the water. And this year they provided all the equipment which makes it easier and yes, more expensive. But I have nine-months to save.

An alternative is the Wildlands' "Boat and Bike". This year that was last weekend and I think it's 10 miles and was $10.

There are a lot of decisions to be made after a ton of research. Starting with a time frame. I think summer vacation might be too short. Maybe May 1 to October 1. Or even Oct. 31?

It should be fun.

Anyone want to come?
