tail on the trail event

Today was the Tail on the Trail event at Upper Saucon Community Park. None of the people on my email list said they'd be coming, so I had thought about dumping it. It's hot for a 10 am event. I called Bonnie about 8 and she was already out walking with Megs and the baby. They thought I would be doing TOTT.

Ultimately I went. The attendance was down.

This was a great event for bikes. They had a person doing safety inspections, checking helmets, and a little course set up for tiny people. They checked their bikes too! Tiny people were having a blast. They didn't care that it was sunny in that parking lot.

There was also a fresh organic grocery giveaway again. Again, first come, first serve, but they did it differently this time. Last time, you signed in, got your veggies (a lot of greens) and stuck them in the hot car till you were done. I didn't take any. Didn't want compost when I got home. I have plenty. They also gave a bag to everyone. So a family could go home with several bags.

This time we signed in and you got a ticket. Turn the ticket in at the end. Smarter. Also, it was one bag per family. Much smarter. They went further. Above was what was in my bag.

I walked around the soccer fields, the woods trail and then went on the Saucon rail trail for the last mile. I managed to find a lot of shade. And puppies. Lyd would have been in heaven.

Driving home I stopped at the gas station. As I walked past the coffee and coffee cups I paused to look at the mugs. Sharon likes 24 oz ones because they are big. I took a pix of this one for her. It's 64 oz.—a full half-gallon—wonder if that would be big enough. (Can you imagine the number of potty stops on a road trip?)
Today I am starting a large freelance project. So I cleaned off my desk. Yes, it still looks cluttered with crap. But you can see the top. And yes, my keyboard is sitting on a Tupperware container and book. I've converted it to standing desk. I sit way too much at the arts center. I need to get one more large book out for the computer. Too bad the phone book are so tiny now ....
