David would have been jealous today. I met Milly. She was a bit of a minor Lehigh Valley celebrity at today's AARP walk at the Promenade Lifestyle Center.
It was great going to this walk. It's exactly 8 minutes from my house. I arrived with five minutes to spare and people were mingling.
We met at the corner with LL Beam. Between the kayaks and the street. Then we walked down the side and lined up against the wall for stretches. I thought, gee that lady looks familiar. But she had a hat and sunglasses on. When we were walking I heard her talk and I knew it was her. I sped up and caught up and said, "hi, are you Milly?" And it was.
We walked together for most of the walk. It was interesting because other people knew her as well. I think she needed business cards with a QR code on with the link.
I was a bit disappointed in the walk. We really only did one quadrant of the shopping center. But we at least went down to the retention pond. They take the word pond there very seriously. The place is huge. We should need to cover the same block twice. Next week it's at the Greenway, but I have a job interview so I won't be there.
Yes, we did do Milly yesterday, and we'll do yoga and senior exercise tomorrow. I'm signed up for a walk Saturday. Oh and "Tail on the Trail" starts May 1, and I began the Penn State "Everybody Walk Across Pennsylvania" challenge Monday. That runs thru June. Wait, this is begining to sound like the old, pre-lazy, Gayle. Hmmmm.
Today I received the daily "news" from my community college. It said they were dedicating a new disc golf course. Say what? Pam and I wanted to try that for one of our athletic adventures. We were talking about it in fall of 2020. Then dropped it.
I generally park across the street and just walk in the door. If I'd use the main parking lot I wouldn't have been so surprised. You can see the start from the driveway. Not much exploring happened. It's nine holes on the east side of the lot, before the east 40 gardens. It says you can borrow kits to play. I'll have to find out from where at on campus. Athletics maybe? Student life?
My biggest concern is that I'll throw it and hit a car on Green Pond Road. That would be very bad.
I wish the walking path had such a nice sign.
Miles/Steps: not quite 2 miles.
Weather: mid-70s
Wildlife: koi. I guess they weren't very wild. More like dumped.
