men in skirts

Some days it just pays to walk. The views are incredible. Today for instance. It's St. Patty's Day and our local Irish shoppe was having a "Best Legs in Kilts" contest.

Downtown, or as my mom would say uptown, was awash in green. People were arriving for the leg contest, the scavenger hunt, the parade, and maybe even the Glengarry Bouys concert tonight.

We drove over town because Bonnie had an appointment at one, and parked at the city center. We headed out Church, up Maple or was it Elm to Fairview and around Liberty High School. At the corner of Linden and Elizabeth Bonnie finally reached Nome on the Idita Walk. We high Fived and kept going down Elizabeth to Main, thru Moravian, and down Monocacy. As we were headed toward the historic district you could hear the bagpipes.

We took the trail from the historic quarter, behind the hotel, and around the smitty to Main Street. At Donegal Square we found both the pipers and the men in kilts. Some were fine. Other, well not so much so.

Coming up Main Street we also found this Miles For Mules "Starry Night" sculpture decked out for the holiday.

After watching the men be cheesy, we went to Hello Burrito for lunch. We were four miles+ into the walk. The food was very good but they use flour tortillas. Oops. They were not busy. They are next to the old Boyd theatre. Probably not a good location.

They had some really cool painted tables. Yes I took pixs of them all.

After lunch we headed up Broad to Linden, back Market, down Center, and back to city hall for the car.

Tomorrow is the St. Pat's 5K. We'll have to kick asphalt to finish in the aloted time. Don't want the to hold the parade for us!
